ok, so we were going to get food last nite, and as we're driving a transformer exploded a little ways up the road from us. it was insane! huge blue and white flashes of light followed by sparks flying everywhere...it was pretty cool, but it scared the shit outta me!
oh, and apparently rob has "beaten wife syndrome"...not to be confused with "enjoying getting a steady paycheck" syndrome. -shrug- some people just can't contain their jealousy.
i've really gotten into medium format film lately. we're doing a holga assignment in my photography class and it's really fun. i had used the seagull over spring break, so i already knew how medium format works which is really nice, but sucks because everyone in class comes to me for help. i need to go buy film actually, so i think i shall go do that now.

the ship's too big. if i walked, the movie would be over...
wow, so it's been awhile. i've been so busy with work and school and photography stuff that i just haven't had much time or motivation to really update. so here's this skinny on my life right now:
work is going well. i'm still doing a lot of the same old boring stuff like sorting slides, but it's a job, and it pays, so i can't really complain too terribly much.
school is going well. stressful as always, but i'm trying to focus on getting things done and not slacking too much. i still can't stand my english class, but i have to have the credit, and so i've decided to take the advice of a friend and "see it through".
photography has gotten a lot better since we stopped using the 4x5 large format camera's. there will be no more of that in my future i can assure you. i did enjoy using it in the studio where i could mess with it in a controlled enviroment, however i do not want to be stuck in a studio the rest of my life, so i don't see me using it very much if at all any time soon. so now we assignment is portraits, and i'm not exactly loving that either. taking a *good* portrait is difficult, but that's not the discouraging part. no, it's the fact that i have to deal with people. i tried to explain to my prof. that this is exactly why i'm not a psych. major any more either. she just laughed.
other than that there hasn't been a lot else going on. rob's birthday was two weeks ago. i tried to give him a great day full of fun stuff, and i think he really enjoyed it. we had a picnic for lunch, and then went and played miniture golf and hit some balls at the batting cages, as well as got ice cream and just hung out. his big suprise was getting to go to medieval times which he had never been to before. it was awesome, our knight was the winner, and all in all we totally had a blast. i don't think either of us could talk normal the next day.
so currently i'm on spring break, which is a nice vacation from the stress of normal day to day life. i checked out a seagull from the photo lab to use over spring break. it's a twin lens reflex medium format camera that uses 120 film, thus giving you a nicer negative and print than normal 35 mm film. so far i'm totally digging it, and i'm hoping to acquire a mamiya SLR medium format camera, but they are definitely not cheap, even on ebay. i don't really have any grand plans for the rest of the week. i have an english paper that i need to write, as well as a couple of chapters for history that i still need to read. i'll be going to g-ville on wednesday to hang out with my momma as an early birthday thing for me, and to take her picture for photo class. two birds with one stone my friends...that's the way things should be done.
update on the kitties...booger is hugemongous. sometime in the past two weeks she hit a growth spurt that started at her rear end and is slowly making it's way up to her head. she looks kinda funny, however, with a large butt and a small head all on the same cat. she's such a sweety, and surely did not let her spaying get in the way of her hyper-streaks. macaroni is doing well. she's been fighting off a sinus infection for a couple of weeks now, and has had it up to her ears with booger. the other day i got a package in the mail with a fairly sizeable box that i left on the floor, which mac soon made hers for the rest of the evening by hiding in it and only peeking out to let booger know that it was her domain.
well i have laundry to finish and rest to catch up on, so i'm gonna go. i'm going to try to make an effort at updating this thing more often, but no promises.
